IHP relies on the generosity and support of our families. It is your dollars that provide the unique learning opportunities that make IHP one of the most renowned public middle school programs in California -- from updated technology, classroom supplies, field trips, teacher training, and so much more -- our dollars make the difference.
Mr. Graham will be holding an informational Yosemite trip meeting for 7th grade parents this Wednesday, September 30th at 6:30PM. The meeting will be in the Library and attendance is highly recommended. Students are welcome to attend as well!
Please feel free to contact the parent trip liaison, Claudia Katz with any questions.
Thank you to all who came to support FIHP at our first laser tag event of the year. We had at least 100 students at the event, and raised nearly $2,000! And thank you to the volunteer parents who helped with ticket sales and concessions. Our next laser tag event will probably be held during the 3rd week of winter break.

Dear New and Returning IHP Parents, Students, and Teachers,
The Friends of the IHP (FIHP) welcomes you to Walter Reed Middle School.
The IHP program offers your student an exceptional classroom and educational experience with dedicated staff, advanced enrichment and technology, and immersive field trips…due in large part to the extraordinary parent support we receive at the start of each school year through voluntary contributions.
The Friends of IHP (FIHP) is a non-profit organization that supports every IHP student, every year. This is why we need 100% participation from each grade.
FIHP works cooperatively with other school wide groups, such as the PTSA, Music Boosters, and Friends of Reed, the latter of which is a new organization that raises money to benefit all Walter Reed students. FIHP is the only organization 100% dedicated to supporting the unique needs of IHP students, so we ask you contribute directly to FIHP below and consider supporting the other Walter Reed groups too.
FIHP’s suggested contribution is $700 per child per year, or any amount that is suitable, to directly benefit your child and classroom this school year. This amount is needed to continue to fill the gap created by LAUSD budget cuts and to maintain the integrity of our highly regarded IHP program.
We encourage and welcome all parents to attend our monthly FIHP meetings to participate in discussions and decision-making about how our donations are spent. Dates and times are posted on the school calendar and weekly email blasts. We hope to you see you there!
